Giving Away a Beloved Sail Training Vessel
$
British Columbia > Vancouver Island > Victoria Area > Sooke-Malahat

The Horizon Unbound Rehabilitation and Training Society is having to let go of their beloved Horizon Unbound due to various challenges. Unfortunately at this point, salvaging the vessel maybe the only way forward, but they would hate to see the vessel scrapped if it can do some good for someone. So if the right person steps forward with a keen interest, clear plan, and suitable experience, the vessel could be theirs for a purely nominal price (e.g. $500).
The major work that needs to be done involves mechanical work, exterior wood work, and mast repair. It is estimated that a complete overhaul would cost roughly $40,000 (it would be safe to operate right away depending on the need). But once that is done you'd have an incredible spacious and seaworthy vessel that would be perfect for someone interested in an affordable alternative to the current housing market. It has Marine Premises Liability Insurance which could be transferred to you.
If interested please reply to this add with
1. Your full name
2. Your experience with sailing vessel or other large boats (years, type of vessel, etc)
3. What you would do if you received the vessel
4. Where and how you would moor it
5. Any questions you have
6. How soon you'd be able to take ownership of the vessel
All responses will be screened and only suitable candidates will be contacted to view the vessel.
